Clifford Knox, age 85, of Crockett passed away Dec. 7, 2000, in Shreveport, La. He was born Aug. 31, 1915, in Lovelady.
Mr. Knox was a longtime resident of Crockett where he was the Mobile Oil Co. consignee for Houston County. He was a member of the Gideons International, the A. S. Lee Bible Class and Crockett's First Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon. The love of his life was his family, friends and church.
He was preceded in death by his son Renay and wife Dorothy.
Survivors include daughter, Patricia Ann Kleckley and husband Sammy of Shreveport, La.; grandsons, James "Jim" Kleckley and wife Rhonda of Lake Charles, La., and Bill Kleckley of Shreveport, La.; granddaughter Elizabeth Carlock and husband Richard of West Lake, La.; sisters, Beulah Holiday of Garland and Anna Faye Markham of Trinity; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Knox were held Monday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Crockett, with the Rev. E. P. Ramsey, Jr. and the Rev. David Valentine officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Jim Kleckley, C. P. Conaway, John Markham, Jason Cormier, Sterling Edwards, Randy Markham, Richard Carlock and Sam Wilson. Members of the A. S. Lee Bible Class were honorary pallbearers.
