My Paternal Grandmother

Amada Sandoval was born about 1893 in Mexico, in the state of Jalisco to Juan Francisco Sandoval and Eudocia Gomez. I have been told Amada had very beautiful green eyes; my dad inherited her green eyes and so have I.

My mom adored her mother-in-law, and my parents said she was a very kind, religious lady who never said an unkind word about anyone. She was a very good mother to her children. When times were hard, and the family hardly had food, she would skip a meal or two so her children had more to eat. My dad said he was blessed to have such a good mother, he loved her very much.

Amada became ill with stomach problems and suffered very much. She died of a stomach tumor, probably cancer.

My grandmother is buried in Guadalajara, she died sometime in the early 1950's, I never had a chance to meet her.

In August of 1970, I accompanied my dad to Mexico and we went to visit my grandmother's grave, along with two of my dad's sisters.

A special "Thank You" to Noname for sponsoring my grandmother's memorial. God Bless you.
