A number of years ago when an airplane crashed into the tower of the Empire State skyscraper in New York City, Mr. Sarubbi was called to make the repairs. Born in Stigliano, Italy, Mr. Sarubbi came to this country about 60 years ago (arrived in New York City aboard the SS Werra on 25 Aug 1898) directly to Yonkers. He was long communicant of St. Anthony's Church on Willow St. and more recently of St. Denis Church.
He was married to Catherine Del Priore in 1900 at St. Anthony's. She died about 13 years ago. Surviving are three sons Joseph of Yonkers, Adolph of Mount Vernon and Felix of Lockhart, Fla.; two daughters Mrs. Joseph (Elizabeth) Lapchick of the Wendover Rd address, and Mrs. Frank Edith Trimble of St. Albans L. I., 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Peter Sarubbi is also survived by a brother, Felix, of Yonkers, and two sisters, Mrs. Anthony Giannantonio, also of this city, and Mrs. Peter Petrocelli of Elmhurst, L.I.
