Born October 16, 1894, in Algonquin, he was the son of Wm and Sophie Dehmlow Schwemm and had lived in the area all his life.
He was a veteran of World War I, serving with the Army and was retired from the Mathew Co., of Crystal Lake. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Cary.
On March 29, 1924, he was married to Mae Duda, in Cary. She died May2, 1970.
Surviving are a sister, Esther Schwemm of Crystal Lake: six brothers, Edwin, Alvin, Raymond and Howard, all of Crystal Lake, Leslie of Woodstock and Gordon of Delavan, WI.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy and a sister Loida.
Furneral Services will be at 1:00 Thursday in the Kahle Funeral Home, Cary, the Rev. Robert Hess officiating. Burial will be in Algonquin Cemetery, Algonquin.
