Adrian James "A. J. " Arday, 73, of Rock Island, died Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Services for Mr. Arday will be 10 am, Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post No. 246. Memorials may be made to Arrowhead Ranch, Coal Valley. A.J. was born January 14, 1935 in Milan the son of John and Ann Vance Arday. He married Bernice Ernat, she preceded him in death. Mr. Arday worked for the International Harvester Co. , Farmall Works, Rock Island, for 30 years retiring in 1986. A.J. loved working on T.V.'s, and computers. He was also a ham radio operator and had the call sign of WA9SBW. A.J. was a U. S. Air force Veteran. Survivors include sisters, Betty Dempsey, Rock Island, Florence Johnson, Florida; a great niece, two great nephews as well as several other nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special friends, Aron Lumbard and Richard Miller.
