Cora V Norris was born 15 January 1867 in Upshur County, Texas to John Norris [1827-1879] born in South Carolina and Martha J Ingram [1835-ca 1910] born in Alabama. Her father was the city marshal of Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas when he was killed 9 October 1879 while standing in a saloon by the brother of a man who he had arrested earlier. He left a young widow and 7 or 8 minor children with no means of support. How the family survived until they turned up in Dallas in 1893 is unknown. By 1893, Martha had brought all of her children to Dallas and found jobs for them. Cora was working for the Dallas Stamp Company by 1893 and living with her mother at 780 Main Street. By 1898 or 1899, she had married Jerry Louis Albright who worked for the railroad. They moved to Mineola in Wood County, Texas where they were living in the 1900 census. She gave birth to two children: Willie M Albright a girl born in 1900, and Jerry Louis Albright a boy born in 1901. Cora died in Mineola on 14 March 1903 and her remains were returned to Dallas where she was buried in the Bunch/Wilkerson family plot. Cora's sister Johnie Norris was married to T C Bunch. She is the only known Norris child buried in Dallas. All others relocated to California by 1910, even the mother Martha J Norris was living in California with one of her daughters by 1910. After Cora's death, her husband, John Louis Albright Sr. remarried and the last heard of him was the 1930 census when he was living in California. Jerry Louis Albright Jr. moved to California with his aunts, and married a Miss Ida Mae Holton there. He was a U S Army veteran of WW II, and in an odd situation he and his wife were both found dead at their home on 24 August 1957. Both of them were buried the same day at Ft Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. Details of their death are not known. Cora's daughter, Willie M Albright was adopted by Cora's sister Della Norris Stimson and lived in California where she disappears from history after the 1920 census.
