Absolum Alton Lee, 79 years of age, died at Elwood Sunday afternoon at 1:15 and funeral services are to be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Dunning, 2800 North C. Street in Elwood, Wednesday afternoon at 2:00, with Rev. Polly Couch-Bowman officiating. Internment is to be in the Sandbank cemetery near Tipton. The deceased was stricken
with a heart attack while visiting at the Dunning home.
The deceased was a former resident of this county and a
well known sawmill and timber man, having operated saw mills in several localities in this county. He was born at Greensburg, April 26, 1860, and was united in marriage to Permelia Emmaline Umphries of the Sharpsville community in 1881, her death occurring on September 23, 1931 in the Pickard community. She was 71 years of age. Three sons also preceded the father to the grave. His parents
were Absolom Dunbar Lee and Mary Ann Purvis Lee. Surviving relatives are three sons, Robert E. Lee and Daniel
Floyd Lee, both of Elwood, and William A. Lee of Jasper, Ark., and a daughter, Mrs. Lenore Lucas of Anderson. Five grandchildren also survive. He is also survived by two sisters. Mrs. Rebecca McShane of Greenfield, and Mrs. Jessie Smith of Indianapolis, and one brother, Joseph
Lee of Greentown. Friends may call at the Dunning
home at 2800 North C street in Elwood at any time. The party will reach the Sandbank cemetery about 3:00 Wednesday
afternoon.
