He was born in Monroe, LA, the youngest surviving child
of Isaiah and Narcissa Grayson Garrett.
He married Jessie Emma Simonton December 7, 1876 at Vienna, LA. He was a member of the Louisiana State Legislature and later was a judge for Ouachita Parish. They moved to Seattle in 1889 and were the parents of six
children.

Thomas was a "lost son" of one of our historical figures here in Monroe. Garrett family sources only state that
he moved to Seattle.
