He was born May 13, 1894, at St. Cloud, Sheboygan County, Wis. His early life was spent in Iron Belt, Wis. About 1915 he moved with his parents to Antigo, Wis. He married Jessie McGregor at Antigo in 1918.
He enlisted in the Motor Transport Division, during World War I on Aug. 24, 1918, and served in France until his discharge March 17, 1919. He returned to Antigo and engaged in auto mechanics.
In 1928 he entered the police force and was active until his retirement in 1942. He moved to Wenatchee in 1944 and on July 2, 1944 he married Blanche Wile. With the exception of several years in Omak and Sequim, he has made his home here, engaging in home building.
He was active in the American Legion and 40 & 8 prior to coming to Wenatchee. He was also a member of the Rocky Reach Barracks no. 1251.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Don Huggins, Wenatchee; and one granddaughter; one great grandson, and two step-grandchildren.
