"In the 1900 census, Jacob was living in Leadville, Lake County, Colorado. He gave his father's birthplace as Maryland, and his mother's as Missouri. Birth date was given as Apr 1864. The tombstone is cut with 1865-1933. In the 1910 census, Jacob listed his occupation as proprietor of a livery stable. He rented his home in Garfield County, Colorado. In the 1920 census, Jacob gave his occupation as laborer, team work. He was living in Glenwood Springs, Garfield County, Colorado. In 1930, Jacob wasn't working. He rented his home in Glenwood Springs, Garfield County, Colorado, for $12 a month."

"Obit. 9 Jul 1933 The Holy Cross Trail, CO. '... survived by his widow, a brother and a nephew in Rifle. In 1880 Jacob came to Leadville, in 1887 he was thrown off an ore wagon and has since been crippled. Jacob ran a livery stable in Glenwood, and in more recent years operated a cigar store.'"
