Daughter of Christian Leap Berg (b. 23 Dec 1843 Prussia) and Rebecca Atkinson (b. 11 May 1857 Iowa). Siblings include Mary Magdilon (Berg) Hill, Robert Samuel Berg, Chris Berg, William Berg, and Albert John Berg. She was born in either Tarrant or Parker County, Texas. Martha met her first husband James Albert Hembree (b. 1861 Tennessee d. 03 Apr 1911 Sonora, Tuolumne County, California) and they married in Washington County, Arkansas on Jan. 8, 1900. They family moved to California and settled in Sonora, California. Children include Rebecca D. Hembree (abt. 1901 ), Benjamin Chris Hembree ( 19 Aug 1903 - 18 Dec 1974), Albert N. Hembree (1907-1910), Pearl Elizabeth Hembree (20 Apr 1907 - 19 Aug 1990), and William Robert Hembree (21 Jun 1910 - 18 Apr 1918). Martha married her second Jesse N. Damin (1881-1957) and then after his death she moved the Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, California where she died 26 Mar 1973.
