PERU MAN DIES AT HOSPITAL
Virgil Lorrain Boomgaarn of Peru died Feb. 27 at the Nemaha County Hospital at the age of 62.
Born Jan. 31, 1918 at Humboldt, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Boomgaarn, and was married to Violet L. Major at Nebraska City.
They lived at Pawnee City, Grand Island and Coos Bay, Ore., before moving to Peru. He had farmed until 1957, then worked on construction as a carpenter until 1970 when his health began to fail.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Mrs. Norbert Esser of Nebraska City, Sandra Boomgaarn of Lincoln, and Kathie Soto of Peru; sons, Herman D. of Lincoln, Steven, Martin, Ronald, Donald and Virgil at home; mother, Bessie Boomgaarn of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Viola Bickle of York, Pa., and Marie Volpe of Chicago; a brother, Raymond of Humboldt, and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. March 1 at Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, with burial in the Humboldt Cemetery.
