Mary Ann M. Saule, 70, Willard, died at the House of the Dove, Marshfield, on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Folmar officiated. Burial followed in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Kornesczuk, John Kornesczuk, Laverne Gregorich, Dan Coughlin, Anton Sauke, and Nathan Sauke.

Mary Ann Marlene Kornesczuk was born on April 2, 1937, in Thorp, to Tom and Mary (nee Grabowski) Kornesczuk. Her family moved to Gilman where she was raised and received her education at the Gilman Area Rural School and Gilman High School. She married Tony Saule on Nov. 29, 1958, at St. Peter and paul’s Catholic Church, Gilman. They moved to Willard and purchased a farm. Besides working on the farm, she also worked at the Redville Dairy, Greenwood, and at the Loyal Cannery during the summers, for a few years. Her husband died on Sept. 8, 1988. She continued to farm until retiring in 2001. She resided in Willard until the time of her death. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and had many interests, but especially loved gardening, polka music, her dog, Tipsy, bird-watching, animals, flowers, cooking, baking, canning, visiting with friends, and traveling, which included Hawaii, California, Arizona, and Alaska.

She will be sadly missed by her son, Eugene (Sherry) Saule, Willard; her daughter, Marilyn Saule, Willard; six grandchildren; four sisters, Frances Kinney, Vista, Calif., Amy (Kurt) Bayer, Lake Geneva, Geraldine (Leonard) Teyssier, LaJolla, Calif., and Bernadine (David) Ruskin, Anchorage, Alaska; and four brothers, Casimir (Nora) Kornesczuk, Melrose Park, Ill., Tony Kornesczuk, Gilman, John (Diane) Kornesczuk, Eau Claire, and Mike (Tammy) Kornesczuk, Cadott.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Tony; two brothers, Eugene and Tom Kornesczuk; and three sisters, Delores Kornesczuk, Theresa Olson, and Victoria Jones.
