Clayton Booterbaugh was born May 29, 1911, in Lilly, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, a son of William T. Booterbaugh (1867-1949), and Mary M. Nagle (1872-1957), both born in Pennsylvania.
Clayton was the youngest child in a family of ten children. His brothers and sisters were: Ellen Booterbaugh (1890-), Anna may Booterbaugh (1893-), Thomas Booterbaugh (1894-), Paul F. Booterbaugh (1896-1951), Eva Booterbaugh (1899-), John Patrick Booterbaugh (1901-1984), Homer Booterbauh (1904-1953), Rose Booterbaugh-Bradley (1906-1968), and Irene Booterbaugh (ca 1908-).
Clayton married Mildred Bradley (1911-1981), born in Lilly. Mildred was a daughter of Michael Daniel Bradley (1861-1927), and Mary Ann "Molly" Callahan (1870-1944), both born in Pennsylvania.
Clayton's brother John and sister Rose also married members of his wife's family.
The couple are both buried in the St. Brigid Cemetery.
