Andrew was the 2nd of nine known children of Johann Michael and Catharina Fichthorn, of which five were boys. His other siblings were Michael (1752-1829), Anna Maria (1758-?), John Jacob (1760-aft 1820), John Philip (1762-1847), Johannes (1765-1768), Maria Elizabeth (1767-1847) Barbara (1770-1850), and Catharine (1773-1852).
Andrew's father, Johann Michael Fichthorn died in Berks, County in 1778 and the probate and court records listed all his living children. Son, Jacob was listed as Johann Michael's executor of the probated will. I used Johann Michael as the name of Andrew's father to be able to tell the difference between Michael, Andrew's brother, and his father, because most of the records also use his father's name as Michael.
Andrew Fichthorn (1756-1829) married Susanna Hoerner/Herner (1760-1827) before 1779 in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a private in Captain George Will's Company under Major Gabriel Heister's First Battalion of Militia of Berks County at Newton. He mustered at Bucks County, Pennsylvania on 2 Jan 1777. One War record from the Pennsylvania Archives indicated that he was associated with the Militia on 22 Jan 1776 , while another indicates the date as 2 Jan 1777. He was also listed in a Rev War record in 1777-1778 where he paid a fine for missing a muster in Captain Christian Crouse's 2 Company, 4th Battalion.
Andrew and Susanna Fichthorn had 6 known children and their names were Andreas Jr (1779-1822), Catharina (1781-1782), Maria (1783-?), Susanna (1784-1864), Michael (1788-1863), Catharina (1791-1829).
According to Andrew's tax records from the town of Reading from 1781 to 1789, he was listed as a gun smith.
Andrew Fichthorn died 19 January 1829 in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania and is buried in the Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading, Berks, Pennsylvania along with his wife Susanna who died in 1827. His will was probated on 23 April 1829.
