Our beloved Toby passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010. He was a wonderful dog. So sweet and good and loving. He would meet me every morning when I came home from working the night shift. He wanted me to pet and love on him a while before going into the house.

We adopted Toby from the dog pound when he was a puppy so he could be a buddy to our other dog 'Dipper' and so they grew up together.

Toby loved to play even as being an older dog. I'd take my little girl dogs outside for exercise and do their business and Toby was always there waiting to play with them. He was like a little new puppy when he played. He'd run circles and my little girl dogs would chase him and then he'd start chasing them. Oh how fun to watch them play.

He and 'Dipper' use to roam the countryside here and all the neighbors knew him. Even the rural mail carrier. He met the mailman every day. He missed his buddy 'Dipper' when he died and was sad for a while but perked up and we gave him extra special attention cause his companion was gone. We made him a bed in the garage and he always slept there and when he was ready for bed he would come to the front door barking to let us know it was his bedtime so we'd open the garage door and into his bed he'd go. We keep our riding lawnmower in the garage and alot of times Toby preferred to sleep in the lawnmower seat. He'd curl up there and just be so content and happy. Toby loved his doggie treats especially the dog biscuts and he'd eat a whole box of them if he'd had his way about it.

We dont know what really happened to Toby. He wandered off on one of his excursions and when he came home he had been in a fight. We suspect same dog that attacked and killed 'Dipper' did same to Toby and I have notified the animal control. However living out in the country they may not come. We are sad loosing another loving pet this way. Toby never hurt anyone or anything in his life. He was a good dog and we loved him dearly and gave him a good home. We miss him so much and our heart is broken today.
