Fern M. Gunther, 102 years old, passed away Friday May 7, 2010. Visitation will be Thursday, May 13, 2010, at D.W. Newcomer's Floral Hills Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Graveside service will be Friday, May 14, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery followed by a 2:30 p.m. memorial service at Kingswood Manor, 10000 Wornall Rd., KC MO. Fern was born in Marcelene, Missouri, to Mary Ellen McCampbell and Charles O. Warhurst. She was a former employee of Kansas City Power and Light Company where she worked for 29 years. She graduated from Marcelene High School. Fern was a 60-year member of the Central United Methodist Church, 51st & Oak Streets. She was also a member of the Old Dominion chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred J. Gunther and her sister Willis Warhurst.
