Mrs. Winnie Mae Stansell Clements, 83, Fifth Avenue Health Care Center, died Wednesday in a Rome hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Clements was born Oct. 14, 1899, in Floyd County, daughter of the late Francis Shores and John Stansell. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Daughters of America and Pocahontas and the Quarter Century Club. She was a retired employe of WestPoint Pepperell Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Clements, in 1975.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Rush and Mrs. Jewel McCullough, both of Rome; Mrs. Nellie Stubblefield, Dalton; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home with the Revs. James Sanders and Larry Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Lindale Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Scott Staley, Ashley Griffin, Ricky Mathis, Marion McCoy, Turner Evans, Emmitt Atkins, E. W. (Beaver) Carver, Billy Salmon and Ed Millican.
