WORLD WAR II and KOREA
Son of Cue and Rowena King, brother of Welton Roger King who is also interred in Golden Gate National Cemetery (memorial #3596803).
Ron was listed as MIA by the USAF. Ron was on a routine mission when it was discovered that in-flight refueling of his plane was not possible. He ejected over the Gulf of Tonkin but, unfortunately, was knocked unconscious and the helicopter sent to retrieve him was unable to do so because the weight of Ron's parachute (which was filling up with water) was dragging them down. The decision was made to cut him loose and Ron was lost. This was six months after his brother, Welton, was killed in a mishap. Welton is buried in Golden Gate Cemetery as indicated.
Note: There are currently two other Memorial Sites for Ron on Find a Grave. One is the Honolulu Memorial (158491835) and the other the National Vietnam Veterans Memorial (228677172)
