Mrs Lucinda McVeigh, of Sullivan, succumbed at her home on Sunday evening, after a lingering illness which had prostrated her for sometime past. The deceased, the wife of Richard McVeigh, of Sullivan, was about 70 years of age, and the mother of 13 children, two daughters, Mrs Frank Cuckler and Mrs (Dr) Merrilee, at Mullens, and 11 sons all of whom survive her. Mrs McVeigh was a devout member of the Baptist church, a good neighbor and valued friend, and the sympathy of the community is extended her bereaved husband.
Interment will be made at the McVeigh family burial ground at Sullivan, Rev W C Blair conducting the funeral service. Rev A L Hutchinson, brother of the deceased, and Attorney J Q Hutchinson, of Beckley, attended the obsequies which in the large numbers of sorrowing relatives and friends presented a last tribute of respect and affection was extended.
