Derwin Glynn Jones, 87, of Moultrie died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Woodlands Living Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1, at Funston Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Shiver and the Rev. Steve Lyles officiating. Interment will follow in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens.

Born Dec. 26, 1922, in Doerun, Mr. Jones was the son of the late Thomas Buster Jones and Henry Belle Stone Jones. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a retired supervisor with Coats and Clark in Newport News, Va. He was a member of Funston Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Ben Jones; and 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Bettie Lucile Truluck Jones of Moultrie; one daughter, Judy Jones Walters and husband Jerry of Moultrie; one son, Jeff Jones and wife Denise of Hartsfield; one brother, Johnny Sanford "Sank" Jones and wife Hazel of Baconton; six grandchildren, Michelle J. Roberts, Travis Jones, Allison Jones, Erin Haskin, Claudia Lyles and Seth Walters; and eight great-grandchildren, Travis and Tyler Wynn, Matt and Will Lyles, Luke and Ezra Walters and Cason and Kynlee Haskin.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Cobb Funeral Chapel.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb Funeral Chapel.
