WILLIAM H. GULLEY, 69, VALIER, DIES
William Hershel Gulley, 69, Valier, died at 1:15 p.m. Thursday in Veterans Memorial Hospital, Marion, after a long illness. Mr Gulley was born Aug. 17, 1898, the son of Herbert and Rosetta Gulley, and lived in Franklin County for 60 years. He was a retired coal miner, last working at the Valier mine. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local 1124, and American Legion Post 280 of Benton and a World War II veteran. He leaves a brother, Earl, of Christopher; and sisters, Mrs. Ida Wells of Treasure Island, Fla., Mrs. Mary Faubel of Peoria and Verna Lingle of Caseyville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Russell Funeral Home in Christopher, where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
