Mrs. Winnie Alice Blankenship died Friday, August 24, at her home in Russell Springs at the age of 85. She was married to John Beckham Smith, Joseph F. Merkley, and Nathan Blankenship, all having preceded her in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Beane, Russell Springs, and Mrs. Dorothy Estes, Bowling Green; one sister, Ada B. Van Ness, Brookville, Indiana; a half sister, Evelyn Cregar; a half brother, Lowell Foley, Russell Springs, four grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at Rippetoe Funeral Home Sunday, August 26, by Bro. Ronald Davidson. Burial was in Old Friendship Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Richard Stephens, Robert Winningham, Jim Stephens, L.A. Bernard, Philip Combest and Hulon Cunningham.
