James Bernard Peck, Sr., 75, of Pine Township, died Monday, October 8, 1978, at North Hills Passavant Hospital in Allegheny County. He retired from D.L. Clark Candy Company with 44 years of employment where he retired as a night shift supervisor. Jim owned a tree nursery on Wallace Road in Pine Township for 24 years until his death.

On June 22, 1925, James married Margaret Dorothea Papapanu, and they had 5 children- James Bernard Jr., Mildred Irene Johnson, Robert Raymond, David Lawrence, and Ruth Margaret Stevens. Later, James married Anna Gatchie, and they had 2 sons- Ronald Lee and Dennis James.

James B. Peck was survived by 2 siblings- sister Oma Bowser of Pittsburgh and brothers Darley, Richard and Jeffrey Peck of Ohio. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Friends were received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, October 9, 1978, at Simon's Funeral Home, 7720 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA. Services were held on Wednesday, October 10, 1978, at 2 PM at the funeral home followed by the burial at Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park, PA.
