Mrs. Lottie Mae BROOKS, 84, Disko, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday at Woodlawn hospital.
She had been critically ill for five weeks. Practically all her life had been lived in Disko and
vicinity.
She was born May 22, 1870, to John and Sarah (WILLIAMS) HEISLMAN and on Feb.
10, 1892, she was married to Jesse BROOKS. Mrs. Brooks was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include the following children: Mrs. Pearl MENDENHALL of Rich Valley;
Mrs. Clara HITTLER of North Manchester; Mrs. Goldie BROWN of Warsaw; Ernest BROOKS
of South Bend; Mrs. Daisy FLECK of Marion; Mrs. Birdella DAVENPORT of North Manchester;
Jesse BROOKS, Jr., of Kempton, O.; Mrs. Elsie FLOHR of Akron, and Mrs. Wildea PRICE of
North Manchester; 102 grandchildren and a brother, Wilfred HEISLMAN of Wabash. Two
children preceded in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday at the Silver Creek Bethel church
with the Rev. Daniel L. SLAYBAUGH in charge.
Friends may call at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home up until noon Tuesday at which
time the body will be taken to the church to lie in state for an hour prior to the services.
