Br. John Dat Nguyen was born August 9, 1970 in Dong Nai, Vietnam. In 1993, he entered religious life, taking his first vows at Thien Binh on November 24, 1995. He was transferred to the Abbey of Christ in the Desert in December, 2006, and made his solemn profession on April 12, 2008.
He was the first member of the community of Christ in the Desert to die.
