Jane Elizabeth or Elizabeth Jane, was born in Greenwich, Ohio on May 13, 1851 and had five brothers, two sisters and two half sisters. Her parents were Willard K. and Jane Ursula (nee Easterly) Hopkins.
She was 17 years old when she married Daniel Flory on Sept. 26, 1869 by Rev. Henry Reynolds in Greenwich, Ohio and was listed in the 1870 Greenwich census as "Lizzie" Flora, living with her parents, Willard and Jane Hopkins.
She was 18 when she had her first son, Walter, and 38 when she had her last son, Berlin. She also had three daughters and three other sons, including a set of twins (Clifton and Leroy) who only lived 21 days and are buried in Kansas.
Lizzie moved to Kansas about 1877 with Daniel and returned to Greenwich about 1882 as she didn't like living in a sod house on the prairie -- she wanted to come back to civilization!!
They had been married 22 years when Daniel died on Nov. 16, 1891 at age 47.
She appeared in 1900 Lakewood, Ohio census with children Charles, Geneva & Berlin. Sometime after that she moved back to Greenwich when she died July 3, 1903 at the age of 51. Both are buried at Nineveh Cemetery in Greenwich, OH in Row 12. This is the writer's great-grandmother.
