Graveside services for Joy Bartlett Hartman will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 10, 2010 in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale, Texas with Rev. Calvin Springer officiating. Visitation, 5PM to 8PM Friday at the funeral home in Rockdale.
Joy was born August 15, 1926 in Milam County, Texas to Fred J. and Adel (Baird) Bartlett. She was a graduate of Rockdale High School.
Joy had worked as a bank teller in the Houston area for 37 years, her last employer was Texas Commerce Bank in Houston.
On July 16, 2004, she and Leo Hartman were married in Gatesville. She has lived in Gatesville the past six years and was formerly of Rockdale.
Joy passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in the Weston Inn Health Center in Temple, reaching the age of 83. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Robbins; Niece, Carol Sanders; Brothers-in-law; Jim Robbins and Rev. Paul Carroll.
Surviving; Her husband Leo Hartman of Gatesville. Brother, Jim Bartlett and wife Mary Jane of San Angelo. Sisters, Virginia Darnell Carroll of Rockdale and Melba Ressel and husband Bob or Rockdale. A number of nieces and nephews including, Becky Gifford, Todd Ressel, Robert Bartlett, Mark Bartlett, Karen Bartlett and many great nieces and nephews.
