SALEM - LaVerne lived most of her life in Stayton with her husband, Ronald Keith Heater and daughters, Barbara and Cathy and her son, Steven. She retired from Marion County after decades of service.
She enjoyed fishing, cooking and sewing clothes for her grand-daughters.
LaVerne is survived by her son, Steven Heater; two grand-daughters; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; her 2 daughters; and a sister, Katherine Alsip.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 at City View Cemetery. Arrangements are by City View Funeral Home.
