Ida "Laura" (Shaub) Reid was the eldest of 3 children to parents Hiram Shaub (a.k.a. Shoup) 1836-1916 and his wife Margaret (Blickenstaff) Shaub of Preble and Miami Counties, Ohio. Her father's family was originally from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (Pennsylvania "Dutch").

Laura married Marcus Eles Reid on September 11, 1880 in Preble County, Ohio. This marriage produced 4 children.

This contributor is a direct descendant of Laura's paternal aunt Frances (Shoup) Perkins ID#47277862.
