L.K. 'Buddy' Lawhorn III, 57, of Memphis, retired from Germantown Police Department, died Sunday in Memphis. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. He was an Army veteran, the recipient of a Bronze Star, a member of Grimes Memorial United Methodist Church and the Elk Lodge and a former professional baseball player. He leaves a daughter, Lisa Kreutz of St. Louis; a son, Scott K. Lawhorn, and his mother, Aleta Reibell, both of Memphis; two sisters, Aleta Gauby of Nashville and Barbara Stone of Selmer, Tenn.; his grandmother, Aubrey Lawhorn of Memphis, and two grandchildren.
