The Philadelphia Inquirer, Tuesday, February 28, 1939.  She was buried in the West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania on March 1, 1939.

“MRS. ARTHUR C. JAMES
Mrs. Bertha B. James, wife of Rev. Arthur C. James, pastor of the Broad Street Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church, Drexel Hill, died Sunday at her home, 3212 School La., Drexel Hill, following an illness of several days.
Mrs. James was found dead by her son, Arthur C., Jr., shortly after her husband had been presented with a plaque by his congregation for his efforts in completing erection of the church.  Although no relation, Mr. James is a lifelong friend of Governor James.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 P.M. from the Drexel Hill Church.  Interment will be in West Laurel Hill Cemetery.”

NOTE: The erection of the church referred to in the obituary is referring to James Hall (Gym).    The large church wasn’t completed until 1950.  I’m assuming the plaque was the plaque that is outside of James Hall.
