Theodesia is the daughter of Solomon and Sarah (Rice) Russell. She married Thomas Darling, son of Simeon and Anna (Phelps) Darling, 10 October, 1808 in Chesterfield, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts.
Theodesia and Thomas had 11 children. The first seven were born in Chesterfield, Ma.

Thomas was a successful businessman. He bought and sold land and lent money to others on their land. He always called himself a yeoman on his deeds, so his primary occupation was probably farmer, although he bought and sold so much property that his primary occupation may have really been real estate. They lived in Chesterfield, Ma., until 1839 when they sold their farm and moved to Worthington, Hampshire Co., Ma.
