Rodney Luther Darling was the 4th child of Zelek and Sarah Ann (Humphreys) Darling. On 08 Oct. 1844 in Sutton, Worcester Co., Massachussetts, Rodney married Permelia Cox Darling. Permilia was the daughter of William and Permelia (Cox) Darling. They are both buried in the same cemetery.
Rodney had three siblings:
1) Edwin Crawford Darling, b. 11 March, 1818 in Providence, R.I., and died 18 Feb., 1821.
2) Eleanor Darling, born 23 Sept. 1820 in Providence, RI and married William Crocker of Milford on 19 May, 1842.
3) Melancy Lawton Darling, born 02 April, 1830 in Sutton. She married Charles S. W. Day on 08 Jan. 1852 in Milton, Ma. (Charles was the son of Stephen Whitney and Elvira L. (Fiske) Day. Charles was born 30 March 1825 in Rutland and died 24 Oct. 1886, age 61 y, 6 m., 24 d.)
