Alline (Charles Lonergan)
Nellie May Austin was murdered by her husband John Bert Austin. He fired three shots into her. He was arrested and charged with premediated murder. Claimed
for sixteen years of his marriage he has been a sufferer and also blames his mother-in-law for many of the troubles.
Nellie May was a graduate of Illinois College. For some time and due to her husband's excessive drinking, Nellie May had been supporting the family by giving music lesson.
Survived by her four daughters; her father; a sister (believe this was actually her sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Beerup; a half-sister (again a sister-in law), Mrs. Wright; and a half-brother (brother-in-law), Carl Austin.
