Hampton – Clifton R. Foss, 86, formerly of Greenland, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Oceanside Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation where he resided the past three years.
He was born May 18, 1923 in South West Harbor, ME and was a veteran of WW II serving with the US Army.
Mr. Foss was employed as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for many years retiring in 1983.
He was the husband of the late Gladys M. (Lajore) Foss.
Family members include two daughters, Gloria J. Foss of York, ME, Elaine Matthew of Wells, ME, seven grandchildren, seven great grandsons and one great great granddaughter.
Services were held April 3, 2010 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
