Joyce Salisbury Anderson passed away May 5, 2009, in Los Gatos, Calif.

She was born in Richfield, Feb. 17, 1935, to Bert and Vernessa Cook Salisbury.

Her mother died when she was only six months old and her father married Lottie Sorensen, who loved being her new mother.

Joyce grew up in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School, class of 1953. She married Ramon "Monty" Anderson June 5, 1956, in the Manti LDS temple.

Joyce and Monty raised their family in Northern California. She was active in the LDS church, serving in primary, Relief Society and young women organizations.

She loved to cook and she and Monty recently remodeled their home with a kitchen designed especially for her talents. No one ever went hungry when she was around.

Joyce started an in-home business, "Puppet-Ups," and made thousands of pop-up puppets for family and friends and also sold them in shops along the California Coast and to first grade and kindergarten teachers throughout the United States and Canada. She also was a partner with two other families in a business, "Blooms," which manufactured and marketed "High End" ladies' jackets.

Joyce enjoyed life and everyone enjoyed her. She loved camping at Yosemite and Fish Lake. Her scones were the best. She liked to sew, shop and do all kinds of crafts, which were given as gifts to many.

She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and her eternal family. She was a super mom and grandma.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Ramon; daughter, Wendi (Allan) Olsen, Gilbert, Ariz.; sons, Kevin (Briana), Santa Rosa, Calif.; Randy (Michele), San Jose, Calif.; and Brett (Michelle), Tucson, Ariz.; and 14 grandchildren. Also, brother and sisters, Marvin (Vera) Salisbury, and Lois Ogden, Richfield; Shirley (Harry) Graves, Oceanside, Calif.; and Jeri (Norris) Ward, Meridian, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by parents, Bert and Vernessa Salisbury; mother, Lottie Salisbury; sister, Frances (Bert) Staples; nephew, Tony Staples.

Funeral services were held May 9, in the Cambrian Park LDS ward in San Jose.

Interment was in the Los Gatos Memorial Cemetery.
