ANWEILER SOLDIER- Judy Anweiler, 71, of Soldier, KS passed away April 18, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. She was born November 22, 1938 in Netawaka, KS the daughter of Elvin Edward and Goldie Marie Whaley Watkins.

She attended Denison and Holton schools and was a lifelong member of Soldier and Holton communities. She worked as a waitress for The Bus Stop and was a supervisor for Slimaker Dress Factory both in Holton.

She owned and operated Anweiler Insurance and Real Estate Inc. with her husband, Joe, for over 40 years. She was a member of the North Topeka, Circleville, Grove and Holton Saddle Clubs, a member of KBRA, ABRA, NBHA and RAP, founder of NEKSAG and co-founder of Hoofbeats.

Judy married Joseph P. Anweiler on January 7, 1956 in Holton. He passed away on December 1, 2009.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Bottom and her husband Terry of Soldier; a brother Les Watkins of Holton; two grandchildren, Derek Bottom had his wife Amanda, Tracee Hewitt and her husband Scott and six great grandchildren, Cheyennee and Lakota Hewitt and Andrew, Clairissa, Terrance and James Bottom.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.

Burial will be in the Soldier Cemetery.

Family will greet friends 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. Memorials may be given to the Judy Anweiler Memorial Fund (to be designated at a later date) c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
