Catherine (Smith)Beazell is the widow of Matthew Beazell. Both were born in Basel, Switzerland. They met on the ship from Germany about 1760. Matthew Beazell died on 17 May 1788 in Rostraver Twp., Westmoreland Co., PA and is buried on what was then called "The Pentacost Farm". A memorial to Matthew and Benajmin FELL(founders of the Fells Methodist Church) was erected near the Fells Church by his grandson, the Rev. Benjamin Franklin Beazell.
