S. P. Deppen was a member of Kirwin Camp S. of V., a good honest young man and a favorite amount his associates. He had been suffering for almost a year from this dreaded disease (Note: probably consumption) and finally had to yield. Funeral services were held in the M.E. Church on Sunday by Rev. C. E. Trueblood. The church was crowded with those paying their last respects to the deceased. We join with the many friends in extending sympathy to the relatives. Three brothers, Lewis, Frank, and Canby, and a sister, Mrs. David Horseman, were unable to be present at the funeral.
