Thomas Albert Webb was born January 5, 1839 and christened January 5, 1840 in Bexley, Kent, England. He was the son of William Reynolds and Sarah (Bath) Webb. He arrived alone with no other family aboard the Vale of Calder on November 6, 1872 iN Galveston, Texas...family memory has it that he was the cook on the ship. On July 3, 1873 he married Martha Louise "Tempa" Capps, the daughter of Diamond and Thursey (Duckworth) Capps. Together they had 6 known children:

According to family memories, Thomas was a loner and did not like people. He left his family and went to live in a nursing home in Dallas where he died on October 22, 1929. His death certificate states he was separated. He is not found on the 1900, 1910 or 1920 censuses.
