Lavinia Abshier (sometimes spelled Elvina) was a daughter of Benjamin Abshire Sr. and his wife Hannah Weed. She was married in Louisiana on December 30, 1828 to James Calvin Moor. The Moors, along with the Abshires, moved to Texas in the early 1840s. Although the Abshires settled between Devers and Hankamer in Liberty County, the Moors settled over on Taylor's Bayou at LaBelle, Jefferson Co., Texas. They later moved to Liberty County and lived near Devers.From La.
