     William G. Oliver, 76, died April 7, 1898 at his home west of Macon. He was born in Miami County, Ohio September 19, 1821. He moved with his parents to Adams County, Illinois in 1830. He joined the M. E. Church at 11 years of age. In 1845 he married Miss Elizabeth Ann Spangler and from this union came the companionship of over 50 years. In 1856 he and his family moved to Western Iowa and owned while there the ground on which Atlantic City now stands. Then in 1859 he returned to Illinois, this time to Carthage Hancock County, where he resided 10 years. In the year 1869 he moved to Missouri, first to Clark County, then to Schuyler, then to Macon in the spring of 1880 where he has lived until death. He leaves a wife and five children. He was buried in his old home burial ground at Pulaski, Illinois.
