– Died – At Richmond, Ray county, July 19, of hemorrhage of lungs, Mrs. Jane Doniphan, wife of General A. W. Doniphan. Mrs. D. was a daughter of the later Colonel John Thornton, of Clay county, and was one of the first children born in that county, when Missouri was a Territory.
