Mr. Barnes was a family man and a retired veteran of the United States Army. He was the loving husband of the late Frances Barnes, who predeceased him, and a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was the devoted father to the late Dave Thomas Barnes, who also predeceased him.
The children he left behind include Lisa McKissack (Chris), Freddy Barnes (Tina), Lee Barnes and Tawana Barnes (Robin). He left behind 11 wonderful grandchildren and 16 delightful great-grandchildren. Lavell Barnes will always be loved and remembered by family and friends for being a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
