From the book, The Men & Women in WWII from Kiowa County (OK): PhM2C Afton Keeton, son of Mr. & Mrs. E.D. Keeton, husband of the former Lydia H. Gorecki, attended Lone Wolf (OK) schools. He entered the Navy in 1942, trained in San Diego CA and New London CN, serving in the SW Pacific and is now aboard the USS Pompon. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon and American Theatre Ribbon.
