He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict and graduated from Northwestern University class of 1962. Vernon was a man of honor and integrity, a Boy Scout Master, Past President of the Emory Building 5 Towns and an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Lindberg Brownworth, 3 sons Steven H. Shirley Brownworth, granddaughter, Joy Brownworth La Grange, GA, Gregory C. Aimee Brownworth, Angwin, CA, Roger S. Brownworth, Chicago, IL, a sister Joyce E. Klingbail, West Leyden, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
