Mrs. Ida S. Johnson, 74, of 1160 Russell Ave. died Saturday at 11:15 a.m. at her home. She was born at Mount Plesant, Iowa July 12, 1900 and first married Alva. C. Putney who died in 1933. She married Charley A. Johnson in Galesburg on March 12, 1934 and he died in 1971.
A daughter of Otto & Ada Alice Richards Schultz, Ida married Alva Claude Putney in Burlington, IA 16 Oct 1922. After Alva's death, she married Charles "Charlie" A Johnson. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Putney Deppe and Mrs. Eileen Putney Bice, both of Galesburg, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Virginia Mae Deppe (also buried at Memorial Park) was Alva & Ida's younger daughter.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson West Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
