FOLEY, Ala. —Melba Ann (Burks) Allred, 62, formerly of Muncie, died at Thomas Hospital in Foley, Ala., April 11, 2010, from a courageous four-year battle with cancer.

Melba was born in Dayton, Ohio on Feb. 5, 1948, to Robert and Gladys (Smith) Burks.

She was a homemaker. She graduated from Southside High School in 1966 and was a former member of Old Town Hill Southern Baptist Church. She loved to play golf, be on the beach, look at the ocean and spend time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include . . ..

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery in Muncie,

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
