Age 69, late of Manhattan after a courageous battle with cancer, Tuesday, November 28, 2000.
Survived by his wife of 48 years Twilla nee Porch. One son, David (Kelly) Andrew of Manhattan. One daughter, Sheryl (Bill) Robitske of Spring Bay, IL. Five grandchildren, Bill Jr., Matthew and Veronica Robitske and Brie-Anna and Nathan Andrew. One aunt, Vivian Williams of Tampa Bay, Florida. One special niece, Sherry Porch and her sons Chris, Brett and Cole all of Billings, Montana. Numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Preceded in death by his grandparents Emma and Roy Andrew. His mother and step-father Mildred and Kenneth Vining.
Norman was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Retired from Com Ed after 35 years of service. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. Past Board member of the Manhattan Grade School.
Funeral services for Norman Andrew will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2000 at the Forsythe Funeral Chapel, 320 Eastern Ave., Manhattan. Rev. Penny Hoffman and Rev. Tim Barber officiating. Interment, Wilton Cemetery, Wilton Center. Military services will be conducted by Manhattan American Legion Post 935. Visitation Friday, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, Make a Wish Foundation or the Manhattan Paramedics would be appreciated.
